Obituary for Josephine C. Wall

Josephine Chichester-Wall, was born September 1, 1921 in Warrenton, Va. She was the only Daughter of Henry and Minnie Brown. She had 4 loving Brothers that did anything for her: Louis, Addison, Henry and Richard Brown.

At the age of 98, Josephine definitely lived a life full of love and adventure.

On Saturday, February 21, 2020, our Lord and Savior called on her to receive her everlasting wings, which were well deserved. She went on to join her loved ones that awaited her beyond this life. She was predeceased by her late husband Frank Wall, Charles H. Chichester, Sr. and her previously mentioned four Brothers.

Josephine worked hard at a variety of domestic jobs throughout her life and cared for others. She loved to travel, cook, dance and had quite a green thumb. She enjoyed planting flowers, fruit trees and harvesting anything that grew from the earth. She spent a number of years planting and tending to the flower beds at her beloved place of worship, First Baptist Church of Vienna. She even planted a peach seed from a peach she had eaten, on the grounds of her condo where she was blessed to witness that seed grown into a full tree producing the most delicious peaches ever. And that has taken place in the last 2 years.

One of the things she looked forward to the most, was spending time with her family at any and all occasions. Particularly holidays and most of all her birthday where she made sure she was the center of attention! And she was not shy in letting you know how old she would be on her birthday either. It was only two and a half years ago that she gave up driving. She was sharp to the very end. And her sense of humor was the best ever. Her spirit was infectious and all that knew her loved to be in her presence.

She leaves to carry on her legacy, her two loving children: Charles H. Chichester, Jr (Chill) and Connie C. Ellis. Known to all her Grandchildren as “Granny” she leaves her three Grandchildren: Sherri Walker (Bobbi), Tracy Chichester, Robert Ellis (Babe). Seven Great Grandchildren: Chantelle Roberts, DeAndre Ellis (Victoria), Tracy Chichester, James Walker (Scoot), Asia Butler (Patrick), Victoria Ellis (Fussy) and Justin Walker. Four Great-Great Grandchildren: Malik Roberts, Zoey Lucas, Lillana Chichester and Kaliyah Ellis.

Josephine also adored her six Nieces: Ann Washington, Pamela Wasyilk, Sheila Wright, Tvela Davis, Shirley Brown & Retta Brown.

In her last few weeks of life, she was cared for by her loving friend Pam Cox who loved her like family. Josephine loved and was so loved by so many of her extended family members & friends.

We will all miss this beautiful soul…with all her all her wisdom, insight intelligence & stamina, there will never be another like her. How lucky heaven must be right now….
