Obituary for Jason Michael Wolfrey

Jason Michael Wolfrey, age 35, passed away January 25, 2019.

Jason is survived by his mother Virginia Duranceau of Manassas and his father Gary Wolfrey Sr. and stepmother Karey of Manassas. Also surviving are his big brother Gary Wolfrey, Jr. and wife Cathy of Nokesville, little sister Jaclyn Lunders and husband Brandon of Dumfries and nephew David; Grandparents Warren and Joan Wolfrey of Manassas and Virginia Johnson of Manassas as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. Jason was preceded in death by grandfather, Roy Johnson.

Jason was born in Manassas, Virginia and graduated from Osbourn Park High School in 2001.

Jason was an avid follower of sports of all kinds but his true sports passion lied with the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team and the Michigan Wolverines and Dallas Cowboys football teams. Jason bled Carolina Blue.

Jason’s passion for sports was only surpassed by his love for bringing joy to all the many kids in his life. Be it nieces, nephews or close friend’s kids, Jason reveled in hearing their laughter and bringing smiles to their faces. He loved being their special Jasie .

Anyone that met and befriended Jason had a life-long friend. The most recurring comment made by Jason’s friends was that he was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, he had a heart of gold. If you ever needed anything no matter what it was if he could help you out he would. His smile and energy was so bright, it lifted up any room he walked into. As a parent, brother, sister, and grandparent that’s all you can hope for, that your loved one made a difference in this world and by all accounts, Jason touched the lives of so many and will be remembered.

The family will be receiving family and friends at Baker-Post Funeral Home in Manassas, VA on Wednesday evening from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 am with the burial to follow at Stonewall Memorial Gardens.
