Obituary for Mae Adella Shevitz
Mae Adella Shevitz, 90, passed away quietly at INOVA Fairfax Hospital late afternoon of February 22, 2019 with her children surrounding her.
Known to most as “mom”, she was the fifth of eight children born to John and Pearl Lohman.
Mae is survived by one brother; Gary C. Lohman of Virginia; five children, Virginia “Ginny” Cassell, John “Rick” Shevitz, Andrew “Joe” Shevitz (Doris), Dianne Plaugher (Randy), and Kathleen Moody (Ken). Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many beloved friends. She will missed by all.
Mae was a resident of this area for 62 years, a retiree from Bowl America of 32 years as snack bar manager and a member of the Manassas Moose Lodge. She lived for her family with a smile always on her face.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, Virginia. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 28, 2019 beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dallas Slemp officiating.
Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 200 West Prospect Street, Front Royal, Virginia.
A reception will follow burial at the Apple House in Front Royal, Virginia.
